We’re Here to Support You!

Choosing to continue your education is an investment in your future: It can open doors, advance your career, and help you have a greater impact on the lives of others and their communities. At Bank Street, our goal is to help you make the best choice to achieve your goals and provide you with the resources to help you fund your education.

Each year, Bank Street’s Office of Financial Aid administers over $8.5 million in financial aid to students, and we’ve recently changed our eligibility requirements so more students can receive assistance. Our need-based aid program makes the cost of attending Bank Street Graduate School of Education competitive with most other private schools in the New York region.

Start Your Financial Aid Application!

Bank Street students can apply for financial aid at the same time they complete their admission application. Filling out the FAFSA as early as possible is an important step in determining your financial aid award. Federal student aid, including grants, can significantly reduce your financial obligation without adding to student debt.

Here are the steps to begin the process:

  • Speak to a financial aid advisor
  • Fill out the FAFSA application
  • Submit a Bank Street Scholarship Application (as a new student, this is part of the application process)
Delia Meza.

“I am the youngest daughter of immigrant parents. From a very young age, my parents have instilled in me the importance of hard work, education, and never giving up on one’s dreams. Since the beginning my studies at Bank Street, my advisors and professors have helped me become more confident in my own voice and are giving me tools to create more equitable experiences in museums. I aspire to be an educator who cultivates students’ strong sense of self-awareness and self confidence to become critical thinkers and knowledgeable leaders.”

“The institute gave me a chance to sit down with our colleagues and professors and have a space to dream, to really think about where I can make the most change. I was well prepared to tackle the challenges I face as a principal in New York City.”

Lindsay Vandervoort McGrath.

“I was initially drawn to Bank Street because of its focus on social justice, inclusion, and advocacy, which are very important to me in education. My scholarships enabled me to attend Bank Street College, and I have had incredible, meaningful learning experiences throughout my time here. I am so grateful that I was able to attend. Thank you so much to the donors for their generosity and support. They are helping me achieve my goals and I am grateful.”

Lucelys Gonzalez.

“As a Latina immigrant, I understand how important it is for students of color to have teachers who look like them, and I understand firsthand the varying experiences they have on a daily basis. At Bank Street, I continue to get the tools needed to best serve that community of students. My scholarships have allowed me to have a new perspective on education and have helped me learn how important it is to have a child-centered classroom that encompasses all aspects of a child’s experience.”
